Visit by Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Warwick, Professor Stuart Croft
12 Mar 2016
The Chairman warmly welcomed Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Warwick to a meeting of the Medical and Life Sciences Research Fund.
At the meeting, the Chairman gave an overview of the origins of the charity for Professor Croft, that well over £6 million had been raised for the University of Warwick School of Life Sciences structure. The charity became independent from the University of Warwick around 3 years ago. The Medical and Life Sciences Research Fund now supports specific projects, all scrutinized by the Scientific Committee and has given out grants to support agricultural and medical projects to Warwickshire universities, hospitals and the Wellesbourne Crop Centre. Successful local fundraising is safeguarded by our strong network of friends and supporters. The charity continues to have no overheads thanks to the kind patronage from Micropathology Ltd and absolutely all donations given to the charity go to support research.
